Take a Color Walk
It’s officially fall and there is no better time to get outside and see all the beautiful colors that nature has to offer. I love combining my passion for being outdoors in nature with my meditation practice. A few years ago I learned about a specific type of walking meditation called a color walk. You can go on a color walk anytime of the year, but fall is my absolute favorite time to do it. It’s a simple exercise where you go outside either in your neighborhood or to a nearby park.
- Walk around intentionally notice and look for colors that catch your eye.
- You can look for a specific color (like yellow or orange) or you can just notice all the beautiful colors
- As you notice the colors, stop, take a deep breath (a witnessing breath) and just enjoy the moment before moving on to the next color.
- You can add more fun by taking a picture of every vivid color that you see. I went on a color walk last week and have included pictures of some of the awesome things that I saw.
- To make this walk even more fun, bring a friend or family member along with you. This is a great exercise to do with children.
The benefits of doing a color walk are endless.. 30 minutes of exercise, fresh air, clearing your mind, seeing the beauty around you, gratefulness, stress reduction, etc. So get out there and take a color walk in your neighborhood.

Thus is really cool and I will give it a try.
