What’s The Job Market For Bagless Wifi-Connected Robot Professionals?

Bagless WiFi-Connected Robot Vacuum

This bagless wifi-connected robot has a utilitarian, all-black design. Its price is comparable to other top-of-the-line smart robotic vacuums.

You can control it using the physical Clean and Dock buttons on the top, or via the SharkClean app, or by using voice commands using Alexa and Google Assistant. It comes with a variety of smart features, such as home mapping and virtual no-go zones.

Matrix Clean

The top vacuum cleaner in America (based on NPD Group/Retail Tracking Service data). Matrix Clean has incredible suction power as well as Matrix & Precision Mapping. It also comes with an auto-emptying bottom.

SharkClean is an app you can download on your smartphone to map out your rooms. The app lets you create an agenda to keep your home spotless or you can select certain rooms to have Matrix start cleaning automatically. You can also designate zones that are ‘no-go such as closets or beds, that you do not want Matrix to get into.

The app also lets you use the “spot” cleaning on demand feature. You can choose a dirty area on your floor map and the robot will automatically make its way over that area with multiple swipes of its cleaning pad. It can clean everything from dog hair twigs and small pieces of paper left over from the latest crafting project.

When the Matrix is done cleaning the Matrix will return to its dock and empty itself into the bin. This is an interesting feature because it reduces the amount of hands-on maintenance you need to do.

One thing to consider about this particular robot is that the LIDAR mapping sensor is situated on top of the structure and could hinder it from getting under some of the lower furniture such as tables and sofas. If you don’t mind being a bit taller than some other robots it’s still a very good choice. Be aware that this model does not come with a HEPA air filter like some other models in this list.

Precision Home Mapping

Shark’s Matrix Clean Navigation uses a precision grid to leave no space unnoticed and its incredible suction draws dirt and debris into a self-emptying 60 day bagless base. Precision home mapping that combines 360deg. LiDAR vision and a precise homemap in the SharkClean App to allow fully autonomous movement and intelligent object avoidance. It creates a detailed mapping of your space, at night or day, allowing complete navigation without causing damage to furniture or other obstructions. This means that your robot will be left to complete a cleaning schedule or you can start Matrix cleaning on demand and set specific targets for your room from the app.

“The team at Precision is fantastic They understand that building a home can be stressful. They are great at keeping your mind at ease during a time that you’re worried about permits and weather, timing, etc.” Josh C.

Powerful Suction

The RV2502AE is a solid mid-range robot vacuum that ticks all the boxes. It’s user-friendly, produces accurate home maps, and has bags that self-empty. It’s also cheaper to operate than many other robot vacuum bagless self emptying vacuums.

It is a plethora of power. It utilizes its side brushes to move hair and carpet fibers into the brushroll. This stops the brushroll from clogging up and causing a mess as seen in other robotic vacuums. This makes the machine more efficient for removing hair from pets.

Apart from its suction-boosting and self-emptying base, this robot also has Matrix Clean Navigation for a comprehensive cleaning, Precision Home Mapping for object avoidance, and a high-efficiency HEPA filter that catches 99 percent of odors dust mites, and allergens and two power modes for various floor types and a remote control that gives you access to all its functions. Moreover, it’s compatible with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to allow you to start cleaning without touching the robot.

While it’s a great option for most homes however, some might find its navigation capabilities problematic. Contrary to other bump robots that are able to avoid stairs, this one had difficulty with stairs. It utilized infrared and LiDAR sensors to map the house however it was constantly mistakenly assuming my cat’s condo as stairs and demanded that I move it out of the way. In addition, it only had 180 minutes of runtime before running out of power, which was less than the advertised time.

Self-Empty Base

A few robots, including this one – feature self-emptying bases that vacuum or dump the debris from the dust bin on board into an external dirt container to make maintenance easier. These are called Clean Base Dirt Disposal (iRobot), Auto Empty Station (Ecovacs) or Bagless Self-Emptying Base (Shark). These are a convenient alternative, but they can also be noisy and messy. They typically require special disposal bags.

This Shark model comes with a HEPA-filtered bagless robotic cleaning devices base, and has a remarkablely large capacity. It can store debris for up to 60 days and does not need to be emptied daily as other models. There’s also a huge amount of amazing Shark suction that can tackle the biggest messes. The only issue is that the docking station’s vacuum system to clean the onboard dust bin is surprisingly loud.

When the robot is connected to a wall outlet and charging, a beep will be heard and the green light will flash on its top to indicate it’s ready to begin cleaning. If the battery of the robot is low, it will dock to its base until it’s recharged. It is important that the dock, or Self-Empty Base, is positioned so it is not blocked by furniture or other objects and is free of any obstructions.

While it’s slightly more expensive than the other mid-range robotic mops we’ve tried, it’s solid and performs better on plain floors as well as a longer battery life, less demanding maintenance requirements, and a greater variety of automation features such as virtual boundary markers. The iRobot Roomba i7, however remains our top option because it is more robust and more refined, is faster in charging and gets caught on rug tassels less frequently and has a higher maximum battery capacity.

Easy Setup

The Shark AI Ultra comes with a simple-to-use Schedule that takes only two inputs. You can select the date and time for sunrise and sunset. You can also choose the duration of the ramp times (increasing brightness or decreasing brightness) and whether to turn the lights on at night.

It doesn’t have the ability to control voice or smart mapping like Alexa and Google Assistant but it has a very useful free programming suite. This suite has various Windows-based tools that allow for setting up communication parameters and operating parameters, dmXLAN node and switch configuration, real-time tests and quick replication of the configuration to multiple installations.

The interface is simple to comprehend for even the novice user. The top tabs correspond with the screens that will be displayed by the installer. There are tabs that allow you to experiment with different options of colors and messages. It is an extremely powerful tool, and it allows you to create an installer for your program quickly. The program is light at 1.3MB and works with anything from Windows 7 down to Windows 95.
